Bad news for the former WWE Champion, who fell to Damian Priest at Backlash.

The Miz potentially faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a torn ACL at WrestleMania Backlash.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported Miz's knee injury on Monday, though the exact nature of the injury wasn't disclosed. Now, the same source has come through with an update on Wrestling Observer Radio, revealing the torn ACL.

There's currently no word on how long, exactly, Miz could be out of action for. If Miz has suffered a full tear, he could be looking at a period of six-to-nine months - or perhaps even longer.

All the best to him for a speedy recovery.

Miz wrestled Damian Priest at Sunday's pay-per-view. A gimmicky lumberjack match saw the ring surrounded by zombies, who pretended to eat Miz alive following his seven-minute loss to Priest, whom he has been feuding with for months. It's hard to pinpoint the exact move or moment that Miz got hurt on, though he was favouring his knee during the bout's latter stages.

Last night's Raw saw John Morrison wrestle Priest in his tag team partner's absence, losing another lumberjack match, albeit one mercifully short of zombies.
