The REAL Reason Why Angel Garza Knew He'd Be Drafted To WWE SmackDown

Angel Garza knows WWE's annual drafting system better than they probably do.

Angel Garza is a smart cookie.

The handsome tag-team star told WWE Espanol that he already knew he and Humberto Carrillo would be traded to SmackDown in WWE's 2021 Draft. How did he know that ahead of time? Well, Garza kept his eye on some of the other trades that were happening.

After seeing that Rey Mysterio, his son Dominik and Zelina Vega had been moved to Raw, Angel told Humberto that either they or Damian Priest would be shifted over to Fridays. The tag duo even got together with Priest to jokingly bet who'd be the one to move.

Garza knew he and Carrillo were SmackDown bound for sure when Damian stayed put on Raw. He pointed out that the company wouldn't want to miss out on the chance to have some Latino representation on FOX - so, basically, if Priest didn't get the shove from Mondays, then he and Humberto would get the nod.

Angel was absolutely bang on the money. He and Carillo were announced as the 18th pick on night two of the 2021 Draft. Garza could see that coming because of WWE's need to satisfy certain demographics.
