The Rock: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Fast Five (2011)

Fast Five is without question the most pivotal entry into the Fast and the Furious franchise to date. Following the widely-panned Fast and Furious, returning director Justin Lin breathed new life into the series by moving away from petrol-head culture and tending closer to a heist caper tone.

The results, evidently, were miraculous, scoring strong critical acclaim and over $625 million worldwide, opening up the series to a far wider audience that now makes it a billion-dollar franchise.

A big reason for this success was the addition of Johnson to the franchise as the ferocious DDS Agent Hobbs, who Johnson got ridiculously huge to play, and has presumably never looked back. If you don't like Fast Five, where a bank vault is hurled around the streets of Rio like it's a matchbox toy, do you even enjoy action movies?
