The Rock Teases Sensational WWE Return

The never-ending saga of Dwayne Johnson coming back to WWE continues...

If 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's seemingly impending WWE return wasn't enough to get you going this week, it seems Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been teasing something similar.

Rock played a hosting role at Super Bowl LVI this past Sunday, introducing the competing teams (the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams) ahead of the game, borrowing heavily from his own WWE verbiage. It was, in many ways, a textbook Rock promo adapted for an NFL setting, though one part of it was off.

NTWRK's Jamie Iovine pointed out that when Rock went to his "the millions" line, he didn't pause for the call-and-response from the crowd. In response, Johnson claimed that this was an "easter egg", claiming that his fans would have an opportunity to hear the full version soon enough:-

This is as clear a WWE tease as you will get from the Hollywood star these days.

Johnson's name is constantly linked to a return to the company in which he first made it in the first place. His busy acting schedule (and other endeavours) have complicated this, though a match with cousin Roman Reigns remains the biggest money match WWE has left in the chamber, even if putting it together has proved a challenge.
