The Rock's 10 Biggest WWE "What Ifs"

4. Generosity

While Rocky was pitched as the Attitude Era’s Hulk Hogan, he differed from Terry Bollea in one key aspect - he put people over. The Rock’s career was studded with title wins and accomplishments, but he was happy to share the wealth. If not for his generous nature, a number of careers may not have taken off like they did.

He helped transition Chris Benoit into a main eventer over the course of several pay per views - while he never dropped the belt to the Crippler, the smaller man was allowed to hang with the biggest name in the business, and was given a substantial push through this.

He did likewise for Kurt Angle, who reached the zenith of his monster push by stripping Rocky of his title. The Olympic Champ hadn’t yet done a year in the business at this point - the more experienced man could presumably have put the kibosh on this, but instead helped to make another star.

Then there’s Brock Lesnar. Rock was on his way to Hollywood, and did the right thing as he left, not just putting the title on Brock but getting destroyed by the Beast. The next 20 years could have been different had Johnson not done business.
