The Undertaker: Every Reinvention Ranked Worst To Best
9. Ministry of Darkness Undertaker
Still one of the WWF's top stars as the Attitude Era propelled the company ahead of WCW, the Undertaker became a bad guy again in the latter half of 1998 for the first time in nearly seven years. Reuniting with Paul Bearer, he became the leader of a cult, recruiting many of 'Taker's real life friends to create the Ministry of Darkness, a collection of mostly renamed disciples who did the Undertaker's evil bidding.
Often appearing in robes and on a throne, this Undertaker spoke in tongues, tried to marry a young Stephanie McMahon and crucified people on a symbol. With jet black hair and a double-pointed goatee, it was the most demonic version of the Undertaker character although it often crossed the line into absurdity and sometimes went too far down the route of bad taste.
By this time 'Taker was suffering from a multitude of injuries endured as a result of working hard to bring the WWF back to the top of the business, and the quality of his matches with frequent opponents The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin decreased with each month.
Ministry of Darkness Undertaker would earn a third WWF Championship for the Phenom but necessitated an abrupt change in character when he would return from a lengthy injury layoff.
