The Undertaker's 23 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

8. Triple H (WrestleMania X-Seven)

Both Undertaker and Triple H were shut out of the WWE Championship hunt as WrestleMania X-7 rolled around. With nothing better for either of them to do (and rumored plans involving Shawn Michaels thrown to the wayside), the decision was made to book them against each other. The feud leading into the match was hardly special, but with The Game in the midst of the hottest period of his career, there was reason to expect greatness. The two superstars provided just that. With the referee taken out early on, the match descended into a chaotic brawl. Undertaker was still not quite back to the level of performer he had been prior to the injuries that necessitated his absence a year-and-a-half earlier, so it was smart to camouflage his weaknesses by putting together a match that played to his strengths as a striker. Triple H bumped all over the historic Houston AstroDome, but got in well-timed shots to keep fans guessing as to which man would leave with their arms raised in victory. While commentators Jim Ross and Paul Heyman made reference to the fact that Undertaker had never lost at WrestleMania, The Streak was not a thing yet. Thus, the outcome was not quite as academic as it would be in later years. When Triple H grabbed hold of his sledgehammer and blasted Undertaker with it during a Last Ride attempt, it looked like The Game was on his way to a monumental win. But that would not be the case: The American Badass kicked out and went on to drop his opponent with the trademark elevated powerbomb, running his win-loss record to 9-0.
