The Undertaker's 23 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best
2. Triple H (WrestleMania 28)
The Undertaker was not the same man he had been when he returned to WWE in 2012. A year earlier, he had been through a war with Triple H and was stretchered out of the ring, his body a broken and mangled mess. Some wondered if they would ever see him again. They did, during the build to an epic "End of an Era" Hell in a Cell match. The contest, the final chapter in the three-way story involving those two superstars and Shawn Michaels, would be a fitting goodbye to one generation and hello to another. But not before another brutal, violent battle. Michaels was at the heart of the match, pleading with both men to end their differences before someone was seriously hurt. They didn't listen. Instead, the continued to pummel each other, using steel chairs, sledgehammers and ring steps. Cuts, scrapes, bumps and bruises became evident all over the bodies of the combatants, but neither stopped. Neither quit. That is, until their bodies quit on them. Having dealt every blow imaginable to his opponent, and even benefited from a brief lapse of judgment from Michaels, Triple H realized that he had nothing left to give. Defiant, told his rival to suck it, then found himself planted head-first in the Tombstone that would bring his night to a crushing end. Then, in a moment that ranks among the most emotional in event history, the three men who defined an era stood atop the entrance ramp, arms around each other as if to say goodbye and 'thank you' to the audience. Of course, neither Undertaker or Triple H actually went away, but that does not lessen the moment.
