The Undertaker's 23 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

22. Giant Gonzalez (WrestleMania IX)

The Giant Gonzalez match at WrestleMania IX may very well be the worst of Undertaker's bouts on the grand stage, at least from a pure wrestling standpoint. The imagery and the high-profile nature of the match elevates it from the bottom spot on this countdown to the No. 22 position, where it belongs. Undertaker worked circles around his opponent, whose complete lack of athleticism and obvious immobility were on display for the world to see. The Phenom's attempt to get something even remotely passable out of the giant was for naught as the match died a slow, painful death in front of fans who recognized a brutally bad match when they saw one. Even the finish sucked, with Gonzalez and manager Harvey Whippleman conspiring to use chloroform to knock out The Deadman, drawing a disqualification in the process. Of course, Undertaker stalked back toward the ring after being carried out on a stretcher, unloaded on his rival and stood tall to end that portion of the show. No happy ending, though, could erase the horror fans had just been subjected to.
