32. WWE Gets ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ Wrong (WrestleMania X)

Like the 'Mania IV snoozer pitting Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts from earlier, a 'Falls Count Anywhere' bout involving Randy Savage should've been classic, but it wasn't. Firstly, the WWF didn't seem to understand the rules. Here, at WrestleMania X, they told fans that 'Macho Man' or Crush had 60 seconds to make it back into the ring once defeated.

It was a messy addendum to the classic stipulation that simply didn't need to happen. Worse, Randy and Crush decided to use some sort of pulley system for the finish, and that didn't work either. Crush had to barely (just barely) hang upside down and play pretend that he was stuck and couldn't reach his feet to unhook them.

Looking back, it's regrettable that this proved to be Savage's last 'Mania moment. He was likely thrilled at the thought of working with one of his real life friends on such a big show, but Crush was never capable of giving Randy the kind of bout he needed in 1994, and the 60 second thing confused the hell out of everybody in attendance as well as those watching back home.

It speaks volumes that the Randy vs. Crush finish beats out Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon vs. Doink The Clown and Dink, or Earthquake besting Adam Bomb in 35 seconds for worst moment. The mixed tag proved to be a bit of a laugh, at least. Nobody was satisfied with Savage's send off - even if fans didn't know this would be the last hurrah for 'Mach' on the WWF's biggest pay-per-view of the year.

The situation would've been infinitely better without that unnecessary 60 second bit.
