The (WWE) Fake News Awards

5. 'Respect (and Hustle, And Loyalty)' - John Cena

Social Commentary
WWE Network

John Cena once castrated The Rock during a pre-WrestleMania promo battle for using WWE as a stepping stone for his enormously successful Hollywood career. He noted 'The Great One's limited schedule and dithering commitment to the cause in comparison to his 24/7/365 approach to life alongside Vince McMahon.

A lot can change in five years. But John Cena hasn't.

You can still see him, alright! After weeks of hard labour from The Miz and Maryse ahead of their WrestleMania 33 clash, who could forget Cena's television burial of the character and pay-per-view dismantling of the couple? Or that time he derailed Baron Corbin's Money In The Bank cash-in then his entire career with SummerSlam's one-sided p*ss-about?! He was even charitable enough to turn up at the Survivor Series in his own merch instead of SmackDown Live! blue and deliver an Attitude Adjustment to Samoa Joe, before spoiling Elias' Christmas Day with another context-free squash. 'Big Match John' had a banner 2017.

Thank you John. Thank you for remaining as dedicated and respectful to the product and your peers as you always promised to be. And in an unrelated note, we're all really excited for your next film!
