The long-awaited Hangman Page/Jon Moxley rivalry got off to the worst possible start when, during their October 18th 2022 Dynamite encounter, a King Kong Lariat was all too effective and left the Elite man with a devastating concussion.

This was, to put it mildly, a stressful viewing experience. The cameras panned in tight on Jon Moxley as he attempted to cut a victory promo whilst putting over a guy that - for all we all knew in the moment - might never wrestle again. Page's medical condition was unclear, and concerned punters were stunned into scared silence as MJF arrived to challenge the reigning Champion to a showdown at the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view.

After a rocky post-"Brawl Out" summer at the top of the card, it was the last thing two big money programmes needed. Luckily for all three men and the fans, the belt wasn't about to face yet more uncertainty. 'The Salt Of The Earth' seized his treasured possession, and Hangman's heroic return came three months later on a Dynamite that saw him gain a measure of revenge against Moxley. The original moment was maximised for their rubber match - Page's Revolution 2023 Texas Deathmatch win was the most brutal and bruising of the Blackpool Combat Club leader's AEW career.
