This AEW Tag-Team Were 'Too Young' For WWE

William Regal has revealed that WWE got this AEW team's age wrong years ago.

William Regal has revealed that he thought The Young Bucks were erm...too young for a WWE contract back in 2011.

Speaking via his new 'Gentleman Villain' podcast, the AEW man admitted that he didn't know Matt (mid-20s) and Nick (early-20s) Jackson were older than "18 and 19". Regal was new to the recruitment gig for WWE, and he didn't want to cause any problems by giving young wrestlers false hope.

Top brass laid down the law by decreeing than anybody they deemed too young would be ineligible for a company contract. Their main concern? "It was something to do with rental cars" and getting wrestlers from A to B easily on the road.

So, amazingly enough, Regal declined to offer The Bucks a deal. In the end, Matt and Nick decided to take their skills elsewhere anyway, and it's fair to say that things definitely worked out for the pair long-term. That pleases William, because he could see how talented both were even back then.

Regal closed the story by saying: "If I’d have known they were the age they were, I’d have tried really hard to get them right on that weekend".
