THIS Former NXT Star Turned Heel On Last Night's WWE SmackDown

WWE added to the heel side in SmackDown women's division by turning an ex-NXT favourite.

Shotzi Blackheart just turned heel.

The former NXT star stepped up to challenge Charlotte Flair on last night's episode of SmackDown. Then, after wrestling Flair, Shotzi viciously attacked Sasha Banks to hammer home the idea that she's now a villain - Banks had interfered in Blackheart's match with Flair.

So, like with any good turn, Shotzi has some justification for her actions. That, WWE hopes, won't stop the boos raining in when she attempts to explain why she went after the ever-popular Sasha. This (if the promotion are careful) could be the start of something wonderful for Blackheart on Friday nights.

They needed some fresh stars at the top of the women's food chain anyway due to the departures of key names like Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch to Raw in the 2021 Draft.

There had been rumours that Shotzi would turn rogue sooner rather than later. Do not be surprised if Blackheart spins away from Banks (Sasha is surely challenging for the SmackDown Women's Title) into a feud with someone else.

WWE may use her a tune-up opponent for the 'Legit Boss' though. That's possible.
