GUNTHER doesn't have fond memories of his experience at WWE's Survivor Series 2019 PLE. There, he teamed with Damian Priest, Matt Riddle, Tommaso Ciampa and Keith Lee as 'Team NXT' in one of the bumper elimination matches, but it was a short night for the future record-breaking Intercontinental Champ.

During an interview with The Daily Mail, GUNTHER called the evening "confirmation" that he didn't like Vince McMahon's way of doing things. He was eliminated by Drew McIntyre after just three minutes of ring time, and that didn't sit well with the big Austrian.

It wasn't about ego - it was about proving himself as a professional wrestler and having the best bout possible. On Survivors 2019, GUNTHER added: "I’m a throwback, and I like to have my time for my matches. I like to have to focus on what I do in the ring, and not the bells and whistles around it".

He also said Raw and SmackDown were "never appealing to [him] as a wrestler" when Vince was running both shows. GUNTHER believes things are much better under Triple H's watch, because his product is "more intelligent in terms of placing certain talent and showcasing their strengths".
