WWE dreams remain alive for this celebrated pro wrestler, but...will he smash his goals?

Johnny Gargano's return to WWE proved a popular move amongst some fans back in August 2022, but it didn't lead to much singles success for the former NXT favourite. Since then, Gargano has reformed his DIY tag-team with old pal/enemy Tommaso Ciampa, but says he still has "unfinished business" of his own.

'Johnny Wrestling' told Chris Van Vliet's podcast that teaming with Ciampa again is great. However, Gargano hopes to someday become Intercontinental Champ and work a singles match at WrestleMania. Those were both things he mentioned during his return promo following a nine-month absence between 2021-2022.

Will they happen? Never say never, but it does look like Triple H's creative team views Johnny as more of a tag wrestler these days. Regardless, Gargano didn't want to sign with another promotion and rob himself of the chance to live his childhood dreams.

Working at 'Mania and bagging the IC Title remain two major goals Johnny fancies seeing through. He wouldn't have been able to do either had he pursued a deal with AEW, IMPACT/TNA, New Japan or literally any other company.

That's why he wanted a WWE comeback.
