Rey Mysterio says he had no clue his good pal Adam 'Edge' Copeland was jumping to AEW before it happened, and the masked legend was left "shocked" when he fired up social media to see Adam debut.

The reigning United States Champ and LWO leader told 'The MMA Hour' that he spoke with Adam "a week before" he became #AllElite. Rey was quick to say that Copeland never mentioning AEW isn't a problem ("We never even had the time to talk about what was next"), because he doesn't need to know everything.

So, seeing Copeland looking happy on AEW programming was a pleasant surprise for Mysterio, and he wishes his old tag partner well. Rey was mainly shocked because he figured Adam would either hit pause on his pro wrestling career to film some TV/movies, or he'd end it on his own terms with WWE.

Instead, it does look like Copeland's final matches as an active worker will happen under Tony Khan's watch.

Summing it up, Rey-Rey also said he couldn't wait to sit down with Adam and find out the full story. Overall, he's thrilled that his friend is content.
