AEW chiefs frantically called an audible during Wednesday's Women's Tag-Team Title showdown on flagship show Dynamite. Tony Khan had no choice when Penelope Ford landed awkwardly whilst performing a moonsault spot to the outside. Lena Kross was instructed to rush out and cause a disqualification so heel Megan Bayne wasn't fighting from underneath against Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron.

Meanwhile, Bayne's MegaBad partner Ford was clearly in distress around ringside as officials and medics checked her over. Penelope landed between Nightingale and Cameron, so they couldn't really catch her as planned. The nasty landing led to huge concerns that Ford was seriously hurt.

Fightful Select say they're currently working to find out the extent of Penelope's pain and thrash out exactly which team was originally booked to win the bout. Babes Of Wrath duo Hayley and Willow ultimately retained their titles via DQ due to Lena's run-in.

AEW officials decreed that Ford was in no fit state to continue wrestling after speaking to her at ringside. So, AEW had to do something to stop Megan from looking like a total badass by going up against the numbers disadvantage and holding her own.

Kross rushing out was really all they could do.

Fingers crossed that Penelope wasn't seriously hurt and won't be out for too long. Fans commenting beneath Fightful Select's post noted that she could be seen crying as medics attended to her. It wasn't a good situation, put it that way.

Khan had to move some bits and bobs around after the fact on Dynamite, but that was the least of his worries.
