TNA Announces New Global Developmental Center

TNA is looking for the stars of tomorrow...if they have a tomorrow.

In a move that is probably 10 years overdue, and probably five years too late, TNA has announced that they're opening up a Global Development Center in London that will be taught by Al Snow at his Al Snow Wrestling Academy.

Snow has been putting out Youtube videos lately where he talks to his students about the finer points of professional wrestling. He has an interesting, old school way to look at the business, and it would be very interesting to see TNA adopt some of his philosophies.

Among the other teachers there are Doug Williams and Joe E Legend, so really, it's a pretty solid crew. However, it must be stated: how can this even be a thing right now? With the company haemorrhaging money left and right, and with a boatload of court cases in front of them, and with The Challenge network not renewing their contract, how can they possibly help fund any sort of training academy? Will any of the students even get a chance to show up in TNA?

The company has done a horrendous job the past few years of signing and developing young talent, as they let one top indy star after the next show up in WWE instead. If TNA does stick around, hopefully they'll be able to find a few gems at the Global Development Center, but we'll just have to wait and see how long this partnership is able to last.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
