TNA Impact Wrestling Review 8/3/12 - New Abyss' Brother Storyline
The big new storyline on TNA this week was Abyss’ brother arriving and looking for him. Not to ruin it for anyone, but the brother is clearly played by Abyss himself. Only time will tell over the next few weeks where they’re going with that one.
Impact Wrestling - March 8th 2012 This weeks opening segment revolved around the Garrett Bischoff lightning push. Imagine how much someone whos last name wasnt Bischoff could benefit from getting a rub from both Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan at once. Garrett showed up despite being warned not to, just to show how brave he is. Kurt Angle made himself available as a partner for Gunner to face Garrett and a partner of his choosing, his reason being that he always respected his parents and that led him to a gold medal. "Immortal" bragged that Garrett would be on his own in the main event against both. But who would possibly team up with such a rookie? Maybe someone who has a problem with Kurt Angle? Of course it turned out to be Jeff Hardy, who has taken his face paint to a whole other idiot level this week again. In the actual main event match Garrett put in an alright showing, but no better than a lot of other people on the roster who arent in the main event. Garrett and Hardy won to send the audience home happy. While I do support that TNA rotate their main events so that it's not always the World Title in the last slot, something about Garrett being in there already leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The big new storyline on TNA this week was Abyss brother arriving and looking for him. Not to ruin it for anyone, but the brother is clearly played by Abyss himself. Only time will tell over the next few weeks where theyre going with that one. Eric Young walked in on Sting getting a bit too excited about his face paint and asked if it would be okay if he asked ODB to marry him in the ring. Sting, being a complete idiot, gave him his blessing and on top of that a match for the two against the Knockout Tag Champions, Gail Kim and Madison Rayne. A few weeks ago I hoped out loud that TNA would NOT take this storyline in this title winning direction but unfortunately, it was inevitable theyd go down the route most annoying. ODB and Young won to take the titles off the feuding ladies. Then, of course, they also got engaged. I make no secret of the fact I grow tired of Eric Young's antics, and now it looks like I have to sit through a "comedy" wedding as well. That episode might need a drink or two to get through. In a weird segment, AJ Styles came to the ring and talked about the tenth year anniversary of TNA. Chris Daniels hit the ring and explained that being AJs friend only ever got him fired. Kazarian added that AJ complains that people are constantly turning their backs on him but has he ever stopped to think it might be his own fault. AJ then told them that from now on hes not teaming with pricks. But instead hell be teaming with ASSHOLES. And with that, Mr Anderson returned by AJs side. What was weird about it is that considering the amount of times Anderson has turned on people already in his TNA career, AJ might want to rethink that one. For a person who's been there ten years, it makes it look like AJ never even watches the show to trust someone like Anderson. In the other match happenings, Austin Aries gave Zema Ion a title match ahead of their PPV one, and lost by DQ when he got caught casually spraying Ion in the face with his own hairspray. Calf Zilla, Bully Ray demanded a match against Bobby Roode and crazy Sting obliged. The match didnt really have a finish as Ray brought a chain into the ring and refused to put it down. James Storm ran in and saved Roode from Ray, only to then give him a Last Call under the chin. Matt Morgan and Crimson earned themselves another shot at the TNA Tag Titles by beating the Two Robbies (E and T.) They did however, continue to show dissension when Crimson tagged himself in to get the cover. Match was all Morgan and Crimson too.
