TNA Slammiversary 2016: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
It's all downhill from the opener.
Now that TNA is seemingly down to just two PPV events per year, they really need to make the most of them. While the company admirably managed to get almost every active roster member on the card, Slammiversary 2016 was without question a mixed bag for the most part.
Pacing was a real issue above all else: the crowd were absolutely killed by four back-to-back mediocre matches, before things thankfully upturned somewhat for the show's second half.
Yes, it was far from the marquee show that TNA really should be pulling out at this point, but at least we got a number of terrific and memorable matches, and some tantalising teases for several upcoming title programs.
Here is every TNA Slammiversary 2016 match ranked from worst to best...
9. The Tribunal Vs. Grado & Mahabali Shera
Result: The Tribunal pick up the win after destroying Grado with a guillotine manoeuver (7:35).
Rating: There's very little that can or needs to be said about this one. There was almost nothing of interest going in and, unsurprisingly, the bout was utterly forgettable. Not totally awful or anything, just bland. We all knew how it would end, and that's exactly what we got.
Neither team did much to endear themselves to the crowd, and this honestly just felt like the sort of match that should've been relegated to the pre-show (as nine matches on a 3-hour PPV is probably one too many anyway). 4/10
