Tommy Dreamer To Take Time Away From Impact Wrestling
Former ECW World Champion won't be on Impact television for the foreseeable future.
Tommy Dreamer has revealed he will be taking time away from his onscreen role at Impact Wrestling for a while.
Appearing on a recent edition of Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray, 'The Innovator of Violence' broke the news when reflecting on his brilliant No Surrender World Championship bout vs. Rich Swann. Dreamer stated the following:
I don't want to say this is goodbye, but I'll be stepping away from on-camera stuff for a bit. There's so much more stories to be told. I had my great moment and unless WWE and Drew McIntyre, on my 51st birthday, I'll face him.
Dreamer had an outstanding performance against Swann on Saturday evening, coming so close to capturing his first championship in Impact Wrestling. Even after suffering a dislocated finger during the bout, Dreamerstill put in quite the effort against Rich on his 50th birthday. His final televised Impact match, at least for the time being, appears to have been his Old School Rules Match against Moose on last night's Impact show.
Seeing as he never mentioned it, we can only assume Dreamer will continue to work in his role as a creative writer and backstage producer.
