Tony Khan: AEW Will Beat WWE Next Week!
The AEW boss is VERY confident that Rampage will top SmackDown in the ratings.
Tony Khan is bullish about AEW's chances of taking WWE down in the Friday night ratings war next week.
SmackDown has been moved to FS1 due to the MLB Playoffs, but WWE announced a "Supersized" two-and-a-half hour edition of the show. That means the final 30 minutes will go head-to-head with Rampage, and Khan isn't for backing down.
The AEW boss tweeted out that he "can’t wait to finally beat [WWE's] main show", and said Rampage vs. SmackDown has "been a long time coming". One fan then encouraged Khan to worry about AEW's programming, but Tony replied that next week's Rampage is "straight fire, chief".
AEW will present bouts like CM Punk vs. Matt Sydal and Ruby Soho vs. The Bunny. The card looks to be headlined by Chris Jericho, Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara vs. Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page and Junior Dos Santos too.
Meanwhile, SmackDown is touting Brock Lesnar's return, and a bumper Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks match. WWE will also present semi final action from both the King Of The Ring and Queen's Crown tournaments.
Khan doesn't care - he thinks Rampage has the edge.
