4. Return To The Ring Survivor Series 2011
While he'd already been involved in a number of physical altercations by this point, fans were still waiting for The Rock's official in-ring return. Initially we thought this wouldn't take place until Wrestlemania 28. Yet, after a challenge was issued to John Cena by Miz and R-Truth, the leader of the Cenation needed a tag team partner for a match at Survivor Series 2011. Surprisingly, he chose The Rock, who gladly accepted. Hosted at Madison Square Garden, Rock would make his special return to WWE competition at the same PPV event and in the same arena he made his debut back in 1997. A fitting time and place, it has to be said. Whilst it was only a tag match and he didn't wrestle the whole way through, Rock proved that he still had what it took from a physical standpoint. Indeed, after the initial exchange with the heels in the opening stages of the match, where Rocky was throwing around arm-drags aplenty like he was a young, fresh-faced Rocky Maivia, the crowd chanted You've still got it." Not only did he still have it, he never lost it. Rock scored the pinfall victory for his team to send the crowd home happy. He rubber-stamped things at the end of the night by firing another parting shot to Cena, laying him out with a Rock Bottom to further hype their big Wrestlemania 28 showdown.
