FTR member Cash Wheeler has sensationally admitted that his partner Dax Harwood almost quit pro wrestling last year.

Wheeler told 'The Walkway To Fight Club' podcast that he and Dax shared an emotional moment over the phone - this came shortly after Cash had ripped his arm open on an exposed hook in-ring. He was dealing with that, and Harwood was going through some real anxiety issues that left him questioning his wrestling future.

Together, they wondered if their time as a team had come to an end. Dax told Wheeler that he didn't want to "hinder [Cash] or his family", but that he was "not having fun" anymore. Their separate contracts with AEW meant that Wheeler could've kept going solo had Harwood decided to announce his retirement.

Thankfully, it didn't come to that.

Both men managed to fight back from the brink of stepping away to enjoy even more success in 2022. In fact, Wheeler believes this year has been "the most fulfilling, successful year of [FTR's] careers".

Imagine what the landscape of tag-team wrestling would look like without FTR? It doesn't bear thinking about.
