Top Free Agent Backstage At AEW Dynamite
The best technical wrestler in the world not named Bryan Danielson was in the house for AEW.
Jonathan Gresham was due to be backstage at last night's episode of AEW Dynamite in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Fightful Select reported on the Ring of Honor World Champion's expected presence at the show before Dynamite hit the airwaves. It was noted at the time that whether or not he was scheduled to appear on the broadcast or work in any capacity was unclear.
Dynamite's two hours ended up passing without an appearance from Gresham, though this isn't the first time he has been backstage for the company. The technical wrestling wizard has behind-the-scenes appearances in AEW stretching back to last December.
Gresham has been a free agent since his ROH contract expired at the end of 2021. He has since kept himself busy by operating his own indie group, TERMINUS, in collaboration with AEW Dark regular Baron Black, while making appearances for IMPACT Wrestling and on the independent circuit. With travel restrictions finally easing, the 33-year-old recently hit the United Kingdom to work for PROGRESS as well.
After close to two months as a free agent, Gresham remains one of the hottest commodities on the circuit. Whether or not he will tie his future up somewhere remains to be seen.
