Top NXT Star Set For Main Roster Push (WWE News)
One of NXT's recently-dethroned champs is set to make a splash on WWE Raw or SmackDown.
Ethan Page could be set for a stint on Raw or SmackDown after dropping the NXT North American Title to Myles Borne on the developmental brand's 24 February episode, according to Bodyslam.net. That write-up was corroborated by Sports Illustrated, so it looks likely the ex-AEW man will make a major splash on the main roster soon.
WWE top brass are high on Page's work. They've been impressed with him since he strolled through the company's doors in May 2024, and now those in positions of power behind the curtain believe it's time he levelled up by coming to Mondays or Fridays.
However, some unfinished business in the main event scene on NXT could temporarily delay his leap up to Raw or SmackDown. It's unlikely to happen before WrestleMania 42, basically, but Page to the main roster is pretty much a lock after that.
Page formed an entertaining alliance with the always-energetic Chelsea Green that bagged the pair a run as AAA Mixed Tag-Team Champions. In turn, that earned Ethan some spots on episodes of SmackDown as he appeared alongside Chelsea and in his own right by laying down some guest commentary.
The man's body of work on NXT has turned a lot of heads, but bigger things are in the pipeline for him after shedding his title to Borne. Page did receive a rematch for the North American gold on the 3 March edition of NXT earlier this week, but he was ultimately booked to stare at the lights for Myles a second time.
