Injury has forced this major AEW favourite out of this year's Double or Nothing.

As seen on last night's AEW Dynamite, Eddie Kingston is unfortunately having to miss this month's Double or Nothing PPV due to injury.

This past weekend saw an injury scare for the Mad King as he dropped the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship to Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence. Post-match, Kingston was attacked by the Young Bucks and Jack Perry, although there were genuine concerns that Eddie had suffered a legitimate leg injury.

Sadly, those fears appear to have been well-founded, for Dynamite saw it announced that Eddie Kingston was no longer cleared to compete in the Double or Nothing Anarchy in the Arena match. However, later in the night, Darby Allin made his surprise return and was confirmed as Kingston's replacement, with Darby now set to team with FTR and Bryan Danielson to battle the Bucks, Perry, and Kazuchika Okada.

Since then, Eddie has taken to Instagram to post a picture of himself in a leg brace and smoking a cigar, alongside a Dan Gable quote: "Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy."
