Last night's AEW Dynamite ended with what appears to be a heel turn for Swerve Strickland.

In the Dynamite main event, Swerve picked up a win over Kenny Omega, hitting the House Call and then landing an inverted piledriver to get the 1-2-3. It was what happened after the match, though, that really caught the attention, as Strickland put a beating on Omega, choked him with a chain, draped Kenny over the top rope with that chain around his neck, and finally put the Best Bout Machine through the announce desk with a Veterbreaker.

As the crumpled Omega lay in the background, Swerve Strickland screamed to the camera, "I needed this," as Dynamite went off the air.

Kenny Omega was checked on by AEW medical staff, the Young Bucks, and Bryan Danielson after the Dynamite broadcast had ended.

In reality, this post-match attack to Kenny was done to write him off TV for the next little while.

As previously noted, the former AEW World Champion was expected to miss Revolution next month as he's scheduled to be in Japan that week for the Capcom Cup 12, a video game tournament where the Street Fighter 6 World Champion will be crowned. That's also why Strickland vs. Omega was done on Dynamite, rather than hold off until Revolution for that match - although, of course, things will surely pick up between the two once Kenny is back on TV.
