Having lost the SmackDown Women's Title to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 over the weekend, Charlotte Flair is now expected to take a break from WWE.

As per PWInsider Elite, the Queen will be taking a break from in-ring action now that the Showcase of the Immortals is in the rear-view mirror.

This report notes how the decision to switch the SmackDown Women's Championship to Ripley at 'Mania 39 was made before Flair informed the company of her plans to take a hiatus. While there's no details on exactly how long Charlotte will be away from WWE for, she told certain people backstage that she and her husband Andrade El Idolo are planning to go travelling.

For those wondering, this absence is believed to commence immediately, with the 14-time Women's Champion not expected to appear on this week's SmackDown broadcast.

Having missed several months of 2022 due to her marriage/honeymoon and some dental work, Charlotte returned to WWE on the final SmackDown of the year, where she defeated Ronda Rousey to win the brand's top female prize. That latest reign with the gold came to an end after 92 days, with Flair and Ripley putting on an absolutely barnstormer at WrestleMania 39.
