Top WWE Wrestler Reveals He Almost Became A Professional Golfer

Wrestling was almost background noise for this WWE star's PGA Tour dreams.

"Awesome" could've given way to shouts of "Fore".

The Miz appeared on the Barstool Sports 'Foreplay' golf podcast to reveal that he previously thought about trying to turn professional in the sport. He and wife Maryse are avid golfers, which some WWE fans might not know, and they've been spending a lot of time out on the course lately.

In fact, Miz says that he and Maryse practically live on the links these days.

Around a year ago, Miz was so into golf that he honestly believed he'd be called up for an appearance on some celebrity tournament. That didn't happen, but there's still time; a fledgling golf career stalled when Miz threw his all into pro wrestling instead, but who knows what the future holds.

The PGA Tour perhaps?

The Miz admitted that his lower back is always in pain nowadays. Surprisingly, that's not from taking bumps inside the ring on Raw - he's sore because he puts so much into his golf swing. Think about that for a second. Those clubs knock more hell out of Miz's back than Damian Priest.

Nobody tell Priest that before Sunday's WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view.
