With tonight's episode of WWE Raw kicking off with Triple H addressing the recent actions of Randy Orton towards certain legends, it didn't take long for Orton to challenge his long-time rival and former Evolution running buddy to lace up his boots and do battle once more.

After the Game laid out Randy with a stiff right hand, the WWE announce team was quick to specify that Hunter had not technically accepted this challenge. From there, the next hour of Raw saw the question posed of whether or not Triple H would take the Viper up on his offer of one more match.

Of course Triple H eventually accepted this challenge, and we're now set to see he and Orton tangle in the main event of Raw - something which very few of us thought we'd be seeing in 2021.

These two superstars have had their fair share of wars over the years, with the most notable of these coming as the final match at WrestleMania XXV; Triple H retaining his WWE Championship against Randal Keith on that April 2009 night.

Originally, current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was due to face Randy Orton in a non-title match to close out this week's Raw. Those plans went out of the window when WWE announced earlier today that McIntyre is quarantining after testing positive for COVID-19.

WWE's subsequent search for someone to replace the Scottish Psychopath in tonight's Raw main event saw them settle on the King of Kings, with this being Triple H's first match since a June 2019 Tokyo live event where he teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura against Samoa Joe and Robert Roode.
