Triple H Almost Made THIS Top WCW Champion "Jump Ship"

Watching Triple H on WWE Raw made someone think twice about sticking with WCW.

Booker T has admitted that he badly wanted to be in WWE when he was the reigning WCW World Champion.

The company Hall Of Famer told fans tuning into his podcast that he'd regularly tune into episodes of WWF Raw Is War when he was backstage for WCW's Monday Nitro. WCW chiefs put a monitor on behind the curtain that showed Vince McMahon's product, and Book enjoyed keeping an eye on the competition.

Secretly, he also admired 'The Game' from afar and wished he could wrestle guys like that weekly.

"I would see Triple H busted up and bloody; doing the Pedigree on the stairs or taking something on the stairs". Whilst watching that, Booker would think to himself: "Wow, man. God-dang it. I wish I was there!". He didn't share this with any of his peers in WCW, of course.

Booker added that watching Trips work made him "feel so alive". He could see that WCW was a fading brand, and he desperately wanted to "jump ship" to wrestle dudes like Hunter or other WWF stars. Book eventually joined the promotion in 2001 once WCW went to the wall.
