Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this past week that WWE had floated the idea of sensationally bringing Enzo Amore and Big Cass back to the company, with the intention of positioning them as NXT's top stars once the gold and black brand moves to USA this fall.

Those outlandish rumours have since been scotched, Meltzer providing an update stating that the company were not interested in the free agents at this time.

Triple H has since went one further, telling talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy that not only were WWE not looking to bring Enzo and Cass back currently, but that they never had any intention to do so whatsoever:

I immediately told our PR to shoot down the Enzo and Cass rumours. Absolutely zero interest. Congratulations to Enzo, I’m sure spreading rumours is working well for him but I want no part of it.

The pair were let go by WWE following isolated incidents a few months apart last year. Their most recent high profile appearance in wrestling as a tandem was as an invading force during Ring Of Honor's G1 Supercard over WrestleMania weekend. The company later declined to continue using their services.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
