Two Major Title Changes Take Place At WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2023
NXT's latest special delivers two big title changes.
NXT crowned two new sets of tag team champions Saturday night at Vengeance Day, as Gallus captured the NXT Tag Team Championship, and the unlikely duo of Fallon Henley & Kiana James toppled Katana Chance & Kayden Carter for the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship.
New Day defended their tag titles in a fatal four-way match that also included Pretty Deadly and Chase U. That match was all action, with the usual car-crash spots you'd expect to see with eight wrestlers involved. Kofi Kingston had a nice run mid-match where he took out the entire field, but the bout broke down into chaos that saw former NXT UK tag champs Gallus put Xavier Woods away for their first title reign in NXT proper.
Meanwhile, James & Henley managed to get on the same page long enough to defeat the longest-reigning women's tag champs in the modern era (since women's tag titles were revitalized), Carter & Chance. They did so in an underhanded way, with James holding Carter's feet down from outside the ring and out of the referee's (and Henley's) view.

The women celebrated afterward, but odds are that when Fallon watches the video and sees Kiana cheating, sparks will fly.
It remains to be seen if New Day will show up on Tuesday to continue in NXT, or if their loss signaled the end of their run there and they're headed back to SmackDown.
