Two More NXT Stars Get Name Changes

WWE writers at Full Sail are getting good value for their eraser.

Earlier this week, WWE's Performance Center announced that five of its scholars have underwent a name change. You can add two more to that list of makeovers, as confirmed by an NXT house show in Largo, FL last night.

DJZ, best known for his time in Impact Wrestling, made his yellow and black debut during the show under the brand-new moniker Joaquin Wilde. He beat Kona Reeves.

Shane Strickland was also featured, now performing under the alia Isaiah Scott. He bested Brendan Vink and Jermaine Haley, tagging with Brennan Williams.

Elsewhere on the show, the recently renamed pair of Ridge Holland met Rik Bugez, with the former Luke Menzies topping a man once known as Eric Bugenhagen. NXT tag champs The Street Profits overcame The Forgotten Sons, whilst at the top of the card, new NXT champ Adam Cole saw of Keith Lee.

After a few years of allowing incoming talent - most of them high profile - to retain their names, it seems the shoe is very much back on the other foot. Check back for more alterations if and when they occur.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
