UFC: 5 Ways CM Punk Can Revitalize His MMA Career

2. Sign With Bellator

Bellator

Whenever anyone leaves or gets cut from UFC, their name is almost immediately linked to Bellator MMA. Since Bellator is the number 2 promotion in North America, it's the logical next step for most displaced UFC vets.

While Bellator's roster isn't as deep as the UFCs, almost all of their fighters have more experience and/or a better MMA resume than Punk. Most of his potential opponents would be at least as good as Mike Jackson — the last man Punk struggled against in the Octagon.

That being said, as Bellator tries to catch up to the lead dog, having a star like CM Punk around would be good for ratings. There's little reason to think CM Punk would have more success in Bellator than the UFC but if he merely wanted to continue fighting on a big stage, signing with Scott Coker's promotion is an option worth exploring.
