UFC's Anthony Pettis Set To Sue USADA
The star claims a drug test bottle cut his hand before his clash with Nate Diaz at UFC 241.
Anthony Pettis feels as though the injury he sustained from a testing bottle before his fight with Nate Diaz at UFC 241 seriously affected his performance on the night, and is therefore planning to sue the U.S. Anti Doping Agency.
Pettis is set to take on Diego Ferreira at this Saturday's UFC 246 event and claims that he had his 'fight compromised' when talking on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show. He then went on to state that, "I gave USADA a chance to make it right, but right now, we’re going through the court. I’ve got to sue them."
Abe Kawa, Pettis' manager, has also mentioned how the UFC and the bottle manufacturer will both be named in the suit.
The cut which was sustained before the fight meant that Pettis was unable to warm-up effectively and he even went as far as to label his approach as 'amateur' due to the handicap the injury had on his game. He revealed that the injury happened after his first sample was said to be too diluted and this meant that he would have to give another, thus cutting his hand on the second bottle and having it glued back together before the fight took place.
