The Undertaker: 10 Genuinely Scary WWE Moments

8. The Undertaker Sacrifices Mideon - Raw Is War, January 11, 1999

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5r5ot_the-undertaker-sacrifices-dennis-kn_sport Initially, The Undertaker as the leader of the Ministry of Darkness was such a strange storyline concept that, well, when it involved The Undertaker trying to embalm "Stone Cold" Steve Austin after October 1998's In Your House: Judgement Day PPV, it almost jumped the shark before it even got into the water. Fast forward to performing a ritualistic sacrifice of Dennis Knight live on Raw, and that was creepy, weird and definitely a little bit scary. When he was an active performer, The Undertaker (moreso than any other character) served as a litmus test for just how in-touch with reality the company is at any given moment. Thus, when The Undertaker is dressing like the lord of the druids and about to slice open Dennis Knight's chest with a knife, you know the company's about to head off the rails, and you watch in eerie anticipation of all of this going very very wrong. Thus, it's scary - but in this particular case in a way that has absolutely nothing to do with any kayfabed reason whatsoever. The Ministry later went on to be incredibly absurd and utterly ridiculous, until the group jumped the shark when they joined forces with Vince McMahon's Corporation. The Corporate Ministry was stupid, but do you remember their mashed-up theme music? That was kind of awesome.
