5. The Hassan Controversy

The reason it caused such an uproar was because it aired the week of the horrendous London Bombings. The footage ended up edited off the UK broadcast, but was aired in full in the United States. To be fair to WWE they recored it three days before the terrorist attack, but come on, they could have shown some common sense and pulled it from that week's Smackdown. So serious was the condemnation of the angle that broadcaster UPN decreed to WWE that the Muhammad Hassan character had to go. He was promptly written out of WWE storylines by Undertaker giving him a 'last ride' off the stage at the next pay per view. This was a controversial video in itself, basically Taker killing a muslim character, worst still a muslim character named after the prophet Muhammad. WWE are lucky they didn't get more heat over this and it's a storyline Undertaker won't be looking back on with pride.
