Update On AJ Styles WWE Status - Possible Contract Extension (WWE News)
Latest word on whether or not AJ Styles plans to stick with WWE or move on.

Fightful Select is reporting that AJ Styles may have signed a one year extension on his existing WWE contract, but details aren't exactly clear on when this happened. The website did previously report that AJ's deal was due to run out at some stage in 2024, but then he got injured and everything seemed blurry before his eventual return.
Now, Fightful has spoken to sources who tell them that "those close to Styles" say he inked a one year extension. Again, there's no word right now on when that happened or when the extension is due to expire. However, there have been swirling rumours for a while now about AJ's future in the company despite still being featured on flagship show Raw.
Recently, a match pitting Styles vs. Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Title was pulled from Night Of Champions over in Saudi Arabia due to a rib injury suffered by the champ. However, WWE has continued to build towards that on television since, which suggests the bout was postponed rather than cancelled outright.
This is all very intriguing. Fightful say they've reached out to WWE and to Styles himself to try and clarify what's going on with his contract status, but neither party has responded at time of writing.
AJ Had Talks With AEW and The Young Bucks In 2019

In the same news item, Fightful told how Styles spoke with The Young Bucks about a possible jump to AEW back in 2019. Those discussions never progressed to the point that AJ and All Elite management talked about how much money he'd earn on his contract if he did make the leap from one promotion to the other though.
That same year, Styles put pen to paper on fresh terms with WWE, and he called that the last major contract he'd sign as an active pro wrestler at the time.
AJ's name regularly comes up when wrestling fans discuss which WWE stars would work over on Tony Khan's side. Matches like Styles vs. Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega and more do sound tantalising, but there's a strong chance he's perfectly content working on Raw under Triple H.
