Update On Asuka's WWE Status
Here's what's going on with Asuka, who hasn't been seen in WWE since July.
Absent WWE star Asuka may be carrying an injury.
The former Raw, SmackDown, and NXT Women's Champion tweeted the following on Monday, revealing that she recently underwent dental surgery. As seen below, Asuka was also sporting a forearm/wrist brace with additional support at the time the photograph was taken:-
I finally got new teeth! It took 6 months since I lost my teeth? Thank you Dr. Byron M Blasco??⚕️ pic.twitter.com/eCsfEpfthd

It should be stressed that there is no indication of the Japanese star suffering from an injury that would keep her from competing for WWE. Nonetheless, the dental work has likely been a while in the making. Asuka missed television time after losing at least one tooth while wrestling Shayna Baszler back in February and although she had work done at the time, it appears at this is finally complete.
There's currently no word on when Asuka will return to WWE television.
WWE fans last saw the empty arena era standout at Money in the Bank 2021 (18 July), where she competed in the titular women's ladder match. Asuka was Raw Women's Champion earlier this year, dropping the strap to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 37 then failing in a Backlash rematch also featuring Charlotte Flair, falling into a brief tag team with Naomi soon after.
