Update On Gerald Brisco's Departure From WWE

Looks like Brisco may only be gone for now.

WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco has been furloughed from the company and not completely released, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

Brisco was reportedly one of the many WWE producers released from the company in the last few weeks, despite being with WWE since 1984. He was responsible for spotting amateur stars such as Brock Lesnar, Jason Jordan, Chad Gable and others over the years and he'd also worked as a talent scout for NXT.

However, Meltzer has confirmed on the Wrestling Observer Radio that Brisco could be brought back into the company at a later date as he was only furloughed by WWE.

The decision to let go of the 73 year-old Brisco during this time was met with shock by many as he was seen as one of the untouchable commodities in the company. However, WWE decided to release a number of their older talents for a number of reasons.

With no amateur wrestling tournaments taking place due to the current global situation, the company clearly felt they didn't need to keep Brisco around at this time.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future he'll be able to call WWE home once again.
