With some previous uncertainty over Jim Ross' AEW future, good ol' JR has revealed that he'll be remaining #AllElite for at least one more year.

As Ross had noted at several points on his excellent Grillin' JR podcast, his existing AEW deal expired on 14 February. Jim was hopeful of being allowed to call Sting's retirement match at AEW Revolution - Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Bob Caudle on the call for Sting vs. Ric Flair at the first ever NWA Clash of the Champions event which took place from that same Greensboro Coliseum venue - and that obviously came to pass, with JR on brilliant form as part of the Stinger's send-off.

While some questioned whether AEW Revolution was the end of the line for Jim Ross in AEW, the latest Grillin' JR episode saw the legendary commentator confirm that he's recently signed a new one-year contract with the company.

As Ross explained (via WrestlingNews.co):

"We wrote a completely new deal, no extension, new contract. It was probably the quickest, easiest negotiation that I've ever done in my career, 50 years, and that's all because of Tony Khan's commitment to me as a broadcaster. He's always been a fan of my work, which really helps your cause when your boss is a fan of your work. It never hurts you."

In terms of contract length, JR added he "thinks we're down for another year" and he speculated that he may be used more on the promotion's PPVs.

Largely viewed as the greatest to ever do it, the wrestling world is forever a better place when it has Jim Ross active and calling the action.
