With Matt Cardona having made his IMPACT Wrestling debut at last month’s Hard to Kill PPV, now comes an update on the former Zack Ryder’s status with the promotion.

Speaking to Fightful Select, Cardona revealed that he’s committed to working the next set of IMPACT TV tapings, but that he is not formally signed with the company as of now.

The one-time Intercontinental Champion explained how he’s enjoying his current arrangement with IMPACT, and that he likes having the freedom that comes along with being a free agent.

Cardona also detailed how IMPACT called him on the Thursday or Friday before Hard to Kill to see if he’d be interested in working at the 16 January PPV. There, the Broski debuted and picked up a DQ victory over Ace Austin, before going on to then team with Josh Alexander against Austin and Madman Fulton on last week’s episode of IMPACT TV.

Back in April, Matt Cardona was one of the multitude of wrestlers, producers and office staff released by WWE. Following that release, Cardona made a handful of AEW appearances before landing in IMPACT Wrestling.
