Update On Potential AEW Trios Titles

Tony Khan shares his thoughts on AEW's long-rumoured trios titles, which are yet to materialise.

Don't expect All Elite Wrestling to introduce trios championships any time in the near future.

Speaking on yesterday's pre-All Out 2021 media call, AEW founder and owner Tony Khan while he "absolutely thinks it would be great" to add such belts, he is currently trying to fit a lot of storylines and matches into his promotion's three hours of weekly television. The belts, it seems, aren't in his immediate thoughts.

Khan added that there could be a place for trios titles as AEW continues to grow and expand. He has thought about these belts (and others) as things progress and thinks a trios championship "would really kick *ss," having spent considerable time thinking about it.

It sounds, then, that this is something for later rather than sooner, with a conversation that has been alive since early 2020 destined to continue for now.

AEW has no shortage of trios and stables on its talent roster, with a considerable portion of its wrestlers attached to some kind of multi-person group. This would make filling such a division relatively straightforward, making this more of an issue of finding the television time than the personnel.
