Update On Rey Mysterio's WWE Injury Status
Here's when WWE expects Mysterio to be back in the ring.
Rey Mysterio should be back in a WWE ring by the Hell In A Cell 2020 pay-per-view on 1 November.
This is according to a new report from Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, who stated that this is when the promotion expects he'll have recovered.
It was reported last week that Mysterio had suffered a legitimate triceps injury while teaming with son Dominik to face Seth Rollins and Murphy at Payback 2020. WWE noted the issue on the following night's episode of Raw, with Meltzer's follow-up report confirming that the lucha legend was actually hurt, and that the injury wasn't a work. This was followed by news that Rey wouldn't require surgery, thus saving him a potential four-to-six month recovery period.
Per Mysterio's Instagram, the 45-year-old underwent platelet-rich plasma treatment in California over the weekend.
Rey was on this week's episode of Raw despite his injuries, supporting Dominik in the ongoing feud with Murphy, whom the younger Mysterio defeated in a Street Fight. The entire family then came together to demolish Rollins' (former?) disciple with kendo sticks as the show came to a close.
