AEW's announcers sparked confusion this week. Here's some clarity.

AEW fans were left with little idea of when next week's Dynamite will air coming out of this Wednesday's episode, with the company's commentators stating their flagship go would either go down on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on what happens in the NBA playoffs.

Dave Meltzer has now come through with clarification. Speaking on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, he stated that the situation depends on whether the LA Lakers/Houston Rockets playoff series goes to a seventh game. If it ends in six, Dynamite goes down in its usually Wednesday timeslot, though a seventh game would mean moving to 8pm on Thursday.

This should be clarified on Monday evening, when the Lakers and Rockets play game six.

The one-hour episode of Dynamite originally planned to air after the playoff game was taped yesterday. This will go down on Tuesday 22 September if AEW can air the previous week's show on Wednesday.

AEW, like its WWE NXT counterparts, continues to reap benefits from running unopposed, with this week's episode of Dynamite topping 1 million viewers. It'll be interesting to see how the show's numbers stabilise once the NBA playoffs are over and normal service resumes.
