Update On WWE's Network Subscriber Count
WWE's Q3 2017 results reveal a 4% increase in subscriptions.
WWE have just released their latest set of financial results, including a big update on their latest Network subscription count.
As per the report, subscribers increased to an average of 1.52 million over 2017's third quarter. This can be broken down to 1.11 million domestic and 400,000 international, and represents a 4% increase on their Q3 2016 numbers.
The total count has fallen from the previous quarter, with WWE reporting 1.63 million paid subscribers back in July. This shouldn't be surprising, though: WrestleMania falls within Q2, and the numbers always spike as viewers sign up for the big event, giving the average figure a boost.
The company, as usual, have failed to provide a breakdown of free vs. paid subscribers, but given how liberal they are in offering free access periods to lapsed customers, it's probably safe to assume that the true subscription count is considerably higher. WWE's last breakdown came in their post-WrestleMania 33 conference call, when they reported 1.959 million total subscribers, with 1.661 million of those paid.
WWE expect the paid subscription count to fall to 1.47 million in Q4, and project an average of 1.53 million for the full year, representing an 8% growth on 2016.
