With WWE initially planning to run a King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia last month, many are wondering whether these tournaments will be revisited by the market leader later in the year.

Of course, WWE ended up scrapping the King and Queen of the Ring concept for May's Saudi PLE, and instead the company served up Night of Champions. At that time, there was speculation that WWE would look to run the King and Queen tourneys later in the year, with the promotion preferring to do such a PLE once the WWE Draft was fully in their rear-view mirror.

In an update on this situation, Fightful Select reports that WWE sources have heard nothing about the King and Queen of the Ring being pencilled in for later in 2023. Instead, these tournaments are being kept in WWE's "back pocket" as something which might happen at a future Saudi Arabia show.

As it stands, WWE has yet to announce its next trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, though the promotion has historically returned to Saudi in October or November to put on the second of its two annual Premium Live Events.
